Abstract Oil Paintings and Landscapes - Chanda Dobriyal

"What is life like?" A frequent image, found throughout the centuries representing life, is that of the wheel. The wheel is an ancient symbol combining the meaning of movement or passing away. At the center of the wheel is a still point, the axis. It is central to the wheel’s movement, but it does not move. Life completes in three stages.

Childhood   (pueritia, age 0-20).  This stage is vibrant, always full of energy, always receiving and focused thoughts. This is represented by using vibrant colors and sharp edges.

Adulthood   (iuventus, age 21-41 and virilitas, age 42-62).  This stage is complex, more focused and uses energy in application, full of aspirations, competition, ego represented by mid tones and earthy colors and complex creepers.

Elderhood   (senectus, age 63-83).  The stage looses the focus, characterized by deep sadness but, surprisingly, often involves anger. Anxiety often arises over living alone with expectation of a return. Tears are fought back with a "stiff upper lip."  This stage is represented by dull colors which blur at the edges.
